![MRS. WILLIAM V. S. THORNE Assistant Board—1914-1937 Board of Governors—1920-1937 Died—December 23, 1937 From the Minutes of the Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Woman’s Hospital in the State of New York, held January 17, 1938. Resolved, That in the passing away on December 25, 1937 of Mrs. William V. S. Thorne (nee J. Therese Keyser) the Woman’s Hospital in the State of New York has lost a faithful Governor and the Governors a warm friend and co-worker. Even before her election as a Governor in 1920, which association was continuous until her death, Mrs. Thorne devoted much time to hospital affairs. She served for seven years as Chairman of the Committee on Supplies and for seventeen years as a member of the Committee on Nurses. Mrs. Thorne had a singular talent for perceiving a need and appro¬ priately applying consolation. To her memory this Board pays enduring tribute. Resolved Further, That this resolution be incorporated in the minutes of this meeting and a copy be forwarded by the Secretary to her family. Grenville Lindall Winthrop, Finley J. Shepard, President.
