Xo Midwives arc cm])loycd by the Local Authority, and no subsidv is paid to any practising Midwife. The number of Midwives who, in January, 1928, gave notice of their intention to practise within the area of the Borough in accordance with Section 10 of the Midwives Act was 25. Subse- quently 4 others ga\-c notice, and their names were added to the register. There is only one untrained .Midw'ife now in practice in the Borough. Lectures to Midwives. Two lectures were given during the year to MidwiVes, one by Dr. H. V. Jessop on “ Abortion ” and one by Dr. W. P. Lowe on “ Complications.” Notifications.
