![XIII. How they call the liuaca which they invoke for rain? This may sometimes be a stone, and sometimes a thunderbolt; and although they say that it is called Liuiac [in Peruvian, a thunderbolt], we must still ask the question, if it be a stone. XIV. What they call the huaca which they invoke in order to prevent the channels for irrigation from being ob- structed ? XV. What huaca they invoke to prevent too much rain, and to secure enough ? XVL What huaca they invoke that the corn may grow well? and that it may not be destroyed by worms? From what lake they draw pitchers of water, to sprinkle their, dwellings and seek rain? into what lake do they throw stones that it may not dry up, and that rain may full ? XVII. To what huaca do they offer twins, which they call Chuchu or Curi • or the child which is born feet first which they call Chacpa? XVIII. What huaca belongs to the prince? which is always very celebrated. XIX. What huaca they invoke when they go to pay the tax on dwellings, mansions, manufactures or mines, that they may return well and promptly, and that the Spaniards may not ill treat them ? and what ceremonies do they use for all these things? XX. We must also ask them, in speaking of the Huaca, where it is, and how situated; what its garments, what its ornaments, and all other circumstances relating to it, which we can, that they may not give one thing for another, and a fancied Huaca for one that does exist; and we must believe as truth what has been related many times, and, if possible, go at once to where it is.
