![15. —The Secretary of State may, subject to such conditions as he may prescribe, exempt any hospital or other public institution from any provision of these ^Regulations. 16. Nothing in these Regulations shall apply to any of the preparations mentioned in the Third Schedule or to a drug or preparation denatured as approved by the Secretary of State. _ *7. (i) In these Regulations the following expressions have the meanings hereby assigned to them. “ Authority ” means (a) any licence issued by the Secretary of State under Sect. 12 of the principal Act, (b) any authority granted by ithe Secretary of State under that Section and (c) any genera] authorisation ; and the expres¬ sion ‘ Authorised’ shall be construed accordingly. “ Drug ” means any drug to which Part III. of the principal Act applies, other than benzoyl-morphine or a preparation, admixture, extract or other substance containing benzoyl-morphine, or a preparation within the meaning of these Regulations : “ Preparation ” means any preparation, admixture, extract or other sub¬ stance containing such a proportion of a drug (other than benzoyl-morphine) as is sufficient to make the preparation, admixture, extract or substance a drug to which Part III of the principal Act applies : “ Principal Act ” means the Dangerous Drugs Act 1920, and references to that Act shall be construed as references to that Act as amended by any subsequent enactment or as extended by any Order in Council made under sub¬ section (2) of section eight of that Act. (2) For the- purposes of these Regulations but subject to any limitation attached to his authority : (a) a person authorised to manufacture shall be deemed authorised to supply; and (6) a person authorised to supply shall be deemed to be a person authorised to be in possession of, to procure, to offer to supply or procure, and to advertise for sale. 18.—These Regulations may be cited as the Dangerous Drugs (Consolidation Regulations, 1928, and shall come into operation Jan. 1, 1929. The Regulations set out in the Fourth Schedule are repealed : Provided that this repeal shall not affect any order made or any direction or authority given under the said Regulations. Home Office, W.
