![mission of the following persons during the past and previous year :— (1) George Stevens and William Bailey were both sent to the Asylum in 1878, by] the Guardians of the Wisbech Union ; and both were subsequently found and admitted to be legally chargeable to Unions in the County of Norfolk. After a lengthy correspondence they were discharged from the Asylum, in January, 1879. (2) George Ayres was sent to the Asylum as a pauper patient by the Guardians of the Ely Union, on the 5th December, 1878 ; but as it was doubtful whether he belonged to the pauper class, a correspondence took place be- tween your Committees, Officers, and the Clerk to the Guardians of that Union, and in consequence he was discharged from the Asylum on the 28th of April last. (3) Matthew Read was a patient in the Asylum ; but it was ascertained by the Medical Superintendent that he was possessed of property, and belonged to a parish in Norfolk ; and your Committee, on the 29th September last, ordered his discharge from the Asylum.
