About this work

Description

David Bellamy presents and appears in the film. He interviews a few children about their views on head lice. Bellamy visits John W. Munder at the London College of Hygience and Tropical Medicine; he is a consultant entomologist. Footage of head lice crawling around in hair is shown. A full head can accommodate 200 lice which will feed up to 5 times a day. Understanding their life cycle better via footage and animation helps with how to control infestation. At school, a nurse checks children. A dramatised sequence, with a mother and young girl are informed that the girl has head lice. Prioderm is the recommended product to eradicate the head lice.
