    22 petition ; and the Vestry also instructed the Surveyor to obtain an estimate for supplying the furniture, &c., proposed to be provided for the Mortuary. The petition to the Local Government Board alluded to above was sealed by the Vestry on the 27th November, 1889. At the meeting of the Vestry held on the 11th December, 1889, the Works Committee presented a report stating they had considered various tenders for the furniture, &c., required at the Mortuary, and the same was ordered to be referred back for tenders to be invited from local furniture dealers; and the Clerk was directed to write to the Burial Board asking if they had any objection to the Vestry employing Mr. Neal as Caretaker at the Mortuary, at 5s. per week. On the 8th January, 1890, the Works Committee recommended certain tenders, for the supply of furniture, &c., to Mortuary, for acceptance by the Vestry, and the same were agreed to by the Vestry; and at the same meeting the Clerk having reported that the Burial Board had declined to allow any of their servants to act as Caretaker for the Mortuary, the Vestry, as a temporary arrangement, resolved that the Police be asked to take care of a duplicate key at the North Fulham Police Station. On the recommenda tion of the Works Committee, the Surveyor was, on the 19th March, 1890, instructed to obtain certain articles required for use at the Mortuary. FOOTPATH, TOWN MEAD ROAD. On the 10th July, 1889, the Vestry resolved that a letter be written to Mr. Cole calling upon him to carry out, within one month, the resolution of the Vestry requiring him to restore the footpath in Town Mead Road to its original position ; and, so soon as Mr. Cole has done the work, the Surveyor do restore the boundary stones to their former places. The Surveyor, on the 18th September, 1889, having reported to the Vestry that Mr. Cole had restored the footpath in Town Mead Road, and that the boundary stones had been put down, the question of erecting an efficient fence, at a cost not exceeding £5, to protect the Vestry's rights by preventing horses and carts drawing over the footpath, was ordered to be referred to the Lammas Rights Committee to view, which was done on the 9th October, 1889, when they resolved to recommend the Vestry to call upon Mr. Cole to remove at once the earth, stones, &c., which he had deposited in and upon the old watercourse, abutting upon the Vestry's footpath leading from Town Mead Road, and to restore the watercourse to its original state, which recommendation was adopted by the Vestry on the 16th October, 1889. The Law and Parliamentary Committee having had the matter brought under their notice, ordered Counsel's opinion to be taken on the question, at a cost not exceeding £3 5s. 6d., which action was sanctioned by the Vestry on the 27th November, 1889, and on the 8th January, 1890, the report of the Solicitor re the above was received at the Vestry, and ordered to be referred to the Lammas Rights Committee.
