The births in workhouses are included in those of the districts in v'hich these institutions are situated. There were ninety-four deaths at Manston Hospital during this year. The rates are calculated for the year on populations estimated to the middle of the period by the Registrar General’s method, described at p. 88 of the Annual for 1904.
