Births in workhouses have been ascribed to the districts in which they occurred. The deaths in workhouses and other public institutions have been transferred to the districts to which the patients belonged, those from outside the City having been entirely omitted. Deaths of Leeds people dying outside the City have not been added, as our information was generally insufficient to fix the district to which they should be referred.
