    The herbage which the cow had eaten contained lead compounds equivalent to 6.0 per cent, of lead. Lead poisoning was obviously the cause of death of the cow. The liquid which was percolating through a cellar wall proved not to be sewage but was probably water from a pond. The samples of sewage sludge were found to be of average composition and should be very useful as fertilisers. Laboratory Fees. During the year fees amounting to £550 12s. Od. were received from various sources for work carried out in this laboratory.
