In this case, the first blade of the forceps must be applied between the head and pubis, and the other blade in the hollow of the sacrum, instead of to the sides of the pelvis, taking care not to injure the soft parts in contact with the arch of the pubis. [When the face is turned towards the right ilium, the handles of the forceps must be rotated inwardly; when it is directed towards the left ilium, the handles must be moved in an opposite direction.
