Contemporary pigskin over wooden boards, the original brass-pieces in centre and corners of sides and clasps gone. Frs. 300.—= Kertbeny 598. Graesse I, 486. Récsey Il, 103, 15. The extremely rare first German edition, of which even the Apponyi- Collection has no copy. The book is translated by Hieronymus Boner, who was a village-magistrate (Schultheiss’) of Colmar and dedicated by the translator to the Prince Hans Rudolf Stér, abbot of Marbach and Luder. The remarkable woodcuts represent battle-scenes, sieges, executions, etc. and are also of interest for the history of Costume. A very fine copy, provided with numerous marginal annotations by the hand of an early owner; 13 of the woodcuts are neatly coloured by hand. Liechtenstein, expensis Joa. Rynman de Oeringaw, 1507. 27. Aug. sm.-8vo. Finely printed in small red and black gothic letter, double columns. Title in red with a large woodcut repres. a bishop and 2 arms; on verso a fine full-page cut of the Adoration, repeated in 4 places. Ai the end, below the red prinied Colophon, the fine mark of Joa. Rynman. Original binding of oak boards, covered with black leather, ornamentally stamped, 2 clasps, cornerpieces. Frs. 200.—= Prince d’Essling I. 2. p. 315. No 938. Unknown to Weale, Alés and Bohatta. The portrait and the arms on title-page belong to Laurent. of Bibra, who was bishop at Wiirzburg from 1495 to 1519. (See Gams, p. 325). Partly stained by use, but a good copy of the first part of an extremely rare Breviary in an interesting binding. See Reproduction on back-cover. Frs. 200. == Klemming, Brigitta-Literatur, p. 59. A very rare small prayer-book, printed at the beginning of the 16th century. Contains 15 prayers of Saint Bridget and one of Saint Augustin. — Rubricated throughout, very insignificantly brownstained, but a good copy. See Reproduction on page 56.
