    from this district to Ealabus we visited Loch Skiros, and gathered Potamogeton perfoliatus and pusillus, and Callitriche auturanalis. In the evening the party were conveyed to Port Askaig, and went on board the steamboat which was to start early next morning for Tarbet. Thus ended our Islay trip—one from which all of us derived the greatest gratification, and for which we were deeply indebted to the kindness and hospitality of Mr. Chiene. Without his kind offices we could not have examined the island in the manner we did.
