Receipt-Book, French: 16th century

Collection of medical, veterinary, cosmetic and miscellaneous receipts: in French, by several hands. The water-mark-a he-goat and name (Etmond? Denise) seems to be a variant of Briquet No. 2864 which dates from 1553 to 1560, and is of Belgian origin.

1 volume 27 ll. (first & last 2 bl.) folio. 27 x 19 cm. Modern vellum binding. Stained slightly throughout, margins cropped in rebinding.
