![At the annual MEETING of the Manchester and Salford Sanitary Association and its Affiliated Societies—the Ladies’ Branch, the Manchester and Salford Noxious Vapours Abatement Association, the Committee for Securing Open Spaces for Recreation, the Manchester and Salford Children s Holiday Fund, and the Cheap Meals Committee—held at the Town Hall, Manchester, on Monday, February 6th, 1888, THE RIGHT WORSHIPFUL THE MAYOR OF MANCHESTER (Mr. Alderman Harwood) in the Chair, The Reports and Treasurers’ Accounts, copies of which lay on the table, were, in r? accordance with announcement taken as read ; and it was, on the motion of the Chair- k MAN, seconded by Dr. Ransome, F.R.S., and supported by the Right Rev. the Bishop i OF Salford and Mr. Councillor J. W. Southern : Resolved—“That the Reports, as presented by the Committees of the Associa- ,,,-j tions in Union, of their proceedings in the year 1887, be approved, and that the !>. Committees be requested to print and widely circulate the same. □ Moved by Mr. Herbert Philips, J.P., seconded by the Right Worshipful the i) Mayor of Salford, supported by Dr. Tatham, Medical Officer of Health, Salford, and > Aeso?v6cZ—“ That this Meeting approves of the objects and method of work . C of the several Committees connected with the Manchester and Salford Sanitary': Association, and considers that the efforts made by them to spread among the people t f a knowledge of the laws of health, to promote cleanliness, temperance, and thrift, to t obtain a purer atmosphere, to improve the dwellings of the poor and to preserve the i lives of their children, deserve a more adequate support from the general public. Moved by Rev. C. G. K. Gillespie, seconded by Dr. Emrys-Jones, supported by , k. Mr. H. R. Slatter, J.P., and Resolved-—‘‘ That the best thanks of the Meeting be given to the President, Vice- President, Officers, and Committees for their services during the past year, and that pi the following Ladies and Gentlemen be requested to act for the ensuing year.” (See ■ page 3.) The Chair having been taken by Dr. Ransome, it was Moved by Rev. Canon Woodhouse, and seconded by Hy.
