I have engaged the finest band for lawn and ball-room, South of New York. 1 think it worth while to remark, for the information of strangers, that fashion does not reign supreme at Capon, but only common sense instead ; accordingly, no rigorous exactions, as to dressing for dinner, dressing for the ball, &c. aud ladies quite as often dance in their promenade dresses, as in their costly and elegant ball-room costumes. In short, by common consent, all such formalities are relegated to the city and to the winterseason, and health, recreation and social enjoyment are the objects of pursuit in this retired and delightful mountain home. And it may be added, that a more refined, cultivated, and genial company of guests is rarely gathered at any spot than Capon. The rooms are spacious and airy, and the table not surpassed, whilst the rates are lower than at any other really first-class summer resort in the two Virginias. Fine Bass-fishing in Cacapon River.
