![Cases admitted to Hospital.—Conditions and defects of such a nature that they cannot be adequately dealt with at the After-Care Centres, are admitted for treatment to the Orthopaedic Hospital, particulars of which are given below. The average number of be'ds occupied was 57, an increase of 5 on the previous year. Tuberculous Cases.—The number of tuberculous cases admitted was 67, an increase of 11 on the previous year. Of the cases dealt with under this Scheme, 25 were diagnosed as suffering from affections of the spine, 23 of the hip, and 19 from affections of the other bones and joints. Cases treated at the Orthopaedic Hospital during the year and paid for by the Pubiic Health and Education Committees. Disease. Under 5 years of age. 5—16 years of age. Over 16 years of age. Total.
