Correspondence concerning the Gairdner Award of Merit (1962). The Award was presented to Crick in Toronto, 23 November, 1962.

Amongst the correspondence are letters from W Ronald Williams, a colleague from Crick's days as Naval scientist, including a reminiscence published in a Toronto newspaper: "The time was the end of the war, and the place where I first met Crick was several levels underground in the Citadel, the great bomb-proof fortress at the rear of the Admiralty, London ..." (attached to letter dated 3 November, 1962).

The file also contains correspondence (1963-74) from the Gairdner Foundation seeking award recommendations from Crick, as a former awardee. There are no recommendations from Crick in the file.
