The Medical Officer of Health is also Medical Officer of Health of the Frinton and Walton Urban District and Assistant County Medical Officer imder the Essex County Council. Miss Briggs also acts as Ultra Violet Ray operator under a certificate from the Great Northern Hospital. II—NURSING AND OTHER SERVICES. There has been no change during the year under the headings of Laboratory and Ambulance Services which arc adequate for the area, or iir Homo Nursmg, Clinics and Ho.spital.s. The Midwifery, Maternity, Infant Life Protection and Orthopninlic services also remained as in previous years. Details of the work done in these services will be found in the section of the Report which deals with Maternity and Child Welfare. The provision of domiciliai'y midwifery, which previously had been assisted by the Clacton Council, became the liability of the County Council innler the Mid- wives .Act 193(). The Clacton Council therefore no longer provides a grant for domiciliary midwifery to the Clacton District Nursing .Association which now receives £210 from the County Council.
