![19. 22. INSPECTION AMD SIIEERVISION OF gPOD. (a) Milk Supply. The number of visits made to the 17 dairies in the district was 27. In all dairies a good standard of hygiene v/as maintained. On the 1st October the Milk (Special Designation) (Specified Areas) (No.2) Order 1954 came into force whereby the sale of rav/ untreated milk was prohibited and only the designated milks,Pasteurised, Sterilised and Tuberculin Tested are allowed to be sold. This caused a sli^^t reduction in the nuinber of dairies operating, and now very little milk is bottled locally as it is now obtained already bottled and sealed from the large suppliers. Now at only one plant in this district is pasteurisation carried out. (t) Meat and Other Foods. (i) Unsound Food. Food condemned as unfit for human consumption consisted of:- IddAT.
