This opinion was given fome months before fhe applied to me, and for want of proper abidance, the wound bad been gra¬ dually enlarging, both in circumference and depth. 1 fir ft began with common dreftings, and made ufe of the precipitate digeftive, but without any fuccefs. Upon this ! gave the Mftre, With the Volatile, in large doles, and fhe being of a fanguine habit, ! bled her, and gradually increafed the dole of Nitre to one dram, four times in the day, and it proved fuccefsful; the foul appearance at the bottom was chang¬ ed, and (hewed a good difpofition to in- carn. By a continuance of this method, and Ample dreftings, in ten weeks, the cure was effected; tho’, during the whole cure, I ordered her to ufe free exercife ; and after the cicatrifation, I directed her to continue the medicines for one month.
