![CONDITIONS OF SALE. I. The highest Bidder to be the Buyer ; and if any Dispute arise between two or more Bidders, the Lot so disputed shall be immediately put up again and re-sold. II. No Person to advance less than Is.; above Five Pounds cZs. 6d. j and so in Proportion. III. The Purchasers to give in their Names and Places of Abode, and to pay down 5s. in the Pound, or more if required, in Part Payment of the Purchase-money ; in Default of which, the Lot or Lots so purchased to be immediately put up again, and re sold, IV. The Lots to be taken away, at the Buyer’s Expense, within Seven Days after the Conclusion of the Sale ; and the re¬ mainder of the Purchase-money to be absolutely paid on or before Delivery, in default of which Messrs. Evans will not hold themselves responsible iflost, stolen, damaged, or otherwise destroyed, but they will be left at the sole risk of the Purchaser. V. The Printed Books are presumed to be perfect unless otherwise expressed in the Catalogue, or in the following Con¬ ditions, or at the time of Sale 5 but if any upon collation within Five days should prove defective, the Purchasers will be at Liberty to take or reject them. VI. The Sale of any Book, or Books, is not to be set aside on account of any Stained, or Short Leaves of Text or Plates, want of List of Plates, or on account of the Running Title on the Top of a page being cut off or through, or on account of the Publica- tion of any Subsequent Volume, Supplement, Appendix, or Plates. VII. No’ 23 Annual Register 5 No. 24 New Annual Register ; No 74 Boyer’s Political State5 No, 210 Army List; No 1170 Nichols’s Bibliotheca Topograpbica. All the Manuscripts. All Books not named in the Lots, and all Collections of Tracts, will be Sold with all Faults, Imperfections, and Errors of Description VIII. The Sale of any Lot of Prints, Drawings, Paintings, or Illustrated Books is not to be set aside on account of any Error in the Enumeration of the N umbers stated, or Errors of Descriptions. IX. Upon Failure of complying with the above Conditions, the Money deposited in Part Payment shall be forfeited and all Lots uncleared within the Time aforesaid, shall be re-sold by Public or Private Sale, and the Deficiency (if any) attending such Re-sale, shall be made good by the Defaulter at this Sale, toge¬ ther with all Charges on such Re-sale, and this shall be con¬ sidered a sufficient Notice to the Defaulter. *** No Lots will be delivered during the Time of Sale.
