Remedy of Defects during the year without Service of Formal Notices. Number of defective dwelling-houses rendered fit in consequence of informal action by the Local Authority or its officers ... ... 18 No new houses were erected but 10 were repaired. Of these, 8 were in Tetbury. There are 92 Council houses in the area, 73 being in Tetbury town. Under the Housing Acts 97 houses were inspec- ted, rather more than in 1940, and to these 361 visits were paid by the inspector. There were only 8 houses placed on the register, as the others were all there be¬ fore. The number of inspections of these houses was 168. No houses were found to be unfit for human habitation, but 8 were not in all respects reasonably fit, and orders were given for repairs to them. The number rendered fit during the year was 18.
