![SHOPS ACT, 1934. There are 251 shops in the Rural area; with the exception of one wet fish shop the shops have pro])erly glazed shop fronts. During the year one case was dealt with; owing to change of staff it became necessary to provide additional sanitary accommodation separate for the sexes. The work was carried out in good time and in a satisfactory manner. No case of excessive hours worked by juvenile employees has been noted or reported during the year. RODENT CONTROL. ✓ There has been no major infestation of rats found by the Council’s Rodent Officer or reported by the public. Survey of areas where rats were found resulted in the location of minor in- festations in adjoining properties. Sewers were treated in March, dune, September and December. No evidence of rats were founds during these tests. Close co-operation is maintained with the Chief Sanitary Inspectors of Bexley and Dartford Borough Councils in joint survey of contiguous areas.
