He was, it seems, given leave of absence, for on July 20-30, Sir John Borough writes Windebank: Doctor Hervey with earnest entreaty hath gotten leave to go into Italy for some weeks during this vacancy, that is, because of a delay in the meeting of the diet at Ratisbon.
