$\ The main body of the text is followed by an index to printers and places of printing, and for his work in checking this index and for his general advice and help with the more obscure items in the catalogue, acknowledgments are gladly made to Dr. Dennis Rhodes of the Department of Printed Books at the British Museum. In addition, various members of the staff of the University of Bristol have given their invaluable assistance with entries in Hebrew, Amharic and Serbo-Croat, and this has been made possible by the courteous help of the librarian of the University of Bristol. The end piece comes from the Clavis Scripturae by Flacius (1609); the printer’s device is a representation of that appearing on the title page of Les Croniques de Froissart [1513?]; the illustration of the scriptorium on the front cover is reproduced from the Chronicles of Monstrelet (1518), and the frame for the title page comes from Lyndewode’s Provinciale (1525).$
