![■C >8 ] There were fome praftitioners who on the fir ft attack of the fymp- toms of fever recommended the ufe of blood-letting, and I know of none who died under this prac- tice. I am, however, much in- clined to fufped that all thofe treated in this manner were much longer in recovering than thofe in whom the lancet was not ufed ;* although in many the fymptoms of inflammation ran very high, yet a purgative remedy generally pro- cured fome remiflion; that moft commonly ufed was the deco6lura Tamar. cum Sena.
