    And be it further Enadted, That it fhall Poor to be compelled to-i and may be lawful for the faid Governors, ^ufefeffary Bufmefs and they are hereby authorized to compel any poor People, who fhall be fuftained in the refpedtive Houfes of Induftry, to perform any neceftary Bufinefs or menial Offices there¬ in *, and that the Mafter of the faid Houfe o r may be let out to Woi of Induftry, on Application made by any Surveyor of the Highways, Turnpike Survey¬ or, or other Perfon occafionally wanting poor Perfons, in Harveft, Hop-gathering, or other Work, fuited to the Strength and Ability of fnch poor Perfons, may hire or let out fo many of the faid poor Perfons as fhall be fo required, on a Contrail for their Labour and Maintenance, at fuch Wages as fuch poor Perfons fhall refpediively deferve, and as fhall be agreed for between the faid Mafter and the Perfon or Perfons hiring fuch poor Perfons ; which Wages fhall be paid to .the Treafurer of the Diftridl for the Time being, and fhall be by him accounted for, and applied to the Purpofes of this Aft.
