About this work

Description

Pen-Bron is a peninsula located on the west coast of France, in the commune of La Turballe, near Le Croisic, Département de la Loire-Atlantique (previously Loire-Inférieure). The sanatorium was constructed there in 1887 to treat tuberculous children with sun-therapy and sea-water bathing. The building shown here was constructed by G. Lafont between 1894 and 1910. The institution later treated children with scoliosis and poliomyelitis, and became a rehabilitation center
