![Meteorology. Tlic Black])o()l ()l')ser\ alory is 70 feet alx)ve mean sea level, and its geographical position is Lat. 53° 40' N., and Long. 3° 3 W. The pre-war publication of observations is now resumed, and daily telegrams are issued, which secure insertion in the press. The ecjuipment of th.e Observatory is as in former years, and the list of instruments is given in earlier reports. Sunshine.—Bright sunshine amounted to 1 ,(>44 -0 hours, or 136 -3 hours above the average for the 30 years 11104—1933. The daily mean \ alue was 4 -5 hours, as compared with 3 -88 in 1932. Sunshine was recorded on 307 days, and the sunniest days were June 12th and July 3rd with 15 -4 and 15 -3 hours respectively. The brightest months were June, 229 -6 hours, and July, 215 -0 hours. R.-mn.—The rainfall for the year was 26 T5 inches, or 8 -56 below the average for the 30 j-ears 1904— 1933. Rain fell on 169 days, and the months with heaviest fall were October, 4 -86, August 3 T7, and February, 3 -00 inches. The heaviest fall of rain in one day was 1 -42 on the 28th August.
