Zrffre being ufed in the Painting ofzafffe, China and Earthern Ware, and Smalt in the Compofition of Powder-Blue, both which Articles are conftantly imported from abroad in very confiderable Quantities, and at a great Expence; there will be given as a Premium for making the mod and beftZaffre and Smalt from Englijh Cobalt (not lefs than Five Pounds Weight of Zaffre, and Fifteen Pounds Weight of Smalt) to be produced on or before the third Wzdnefday in January 1759, together with One Pound of the Ore they were produced from, in order to a Counter Proof, 30 L Premiums for improving Arts, 56. Fancy, Defign andTafte, being greatly Drawings afiifted by the Art of Drawing, and abfo- 3ute1y neceffary to all Perfons concerned in Building, Furniture, Drefs, Toys, or any other Matters where Elegance and Orna¬ ment are required *, it is judged proper to encourage the fame, by giving for the bed Drawings of an human Figure after Life, drawn at the Academy for Painting, &c\ in St. Martin’s-Lane, by Youths under the Age of Twenty-four, to be produced on or before the Firft IVednefday in March 1759®
