Bartholomew, the Yearlaft j pate, of Wour*ded, Sick and Makered Soldiers and j Seamen, and other Difeafed Perfons, from feveral j Parts of the Dominions of the Queen’s Moft Excel- |„ lent Majefty, and from Foreign Parts, 2397 ; many >2,397- of which have been relieved with Mony and other i Neceffaries at their Departure, tho’ as (it hath plea-1 fed God) the greateft Part of the Revenue of the faid Hofpital was confum’d by the late dreadful Fire I 318 166 Buried this Year, after much Charge on them Perfons remaining under Cure at the Charge of the 7 faid Hofpital 5 The Difficulties of the Times being fueh, and the Con- tingent Charities exceedingly leffen’d, the ordinary Rev© nue is not fufficient to fupport the Charge of the whole. St.TlfOM^S’sHOSPITAL T^Here have been Curd and Difcharg’d from'* St. Thomas's Hofpital in Southward this laft Year, of Wounded, Sick, Maimed and Difeafed Perfons, from feveral Parts of Her Majefty’s Dominions, and Foreign Parts, 2900 ; many of which have been re- l lieved with Mony and other Neceffaries at their De- panure ; tho’ much of the Revenue of the faid Ho¬ fpital has been deftroy’d by feveral dreadful Fires in London and Southwark^; and moft of the Buildings of this Hofpital being very old and incommodious for Patients, the Governours have Rebuilt the greateft Part tlfereof with their own Mony, and have en* larged the fame, fo that it is now capable of receiv¬ ing many more Patients than before: But the Yearly Revenue of the faid Hofpital being not fufficient to anfwer the cooftant Annual Charge of fo great a Number of Patients, the Charitable Affiftance and Contributions of well-difpofed Perfons is humbly de¬ fied, as well towards the compleating the Buildings of the faid Hofpital, as for fupporting the Charge of the great Number of poor miserable People who are constantly kept in the faid Hofpital for Cures,](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b30371259_0023.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
