Description
In the first half of the programme, Raj Persaud looks at the use of ECT and its public persona. The programme includes accounts from people who have undergone ECT. Alan Scott, Diana Rose and Raj Persaud discuss its current usage as a treatment for mental illness. In the second half of the programme Stephen Pflanz talks to Persaud about how psychiatrists have been portrayed in Hollywood films since the post-war period. The final section of the programme is about psychiatrists and their families. Persaud speaks to people attending the 'Living with a Psychiatrist' conference at the American Psychiatric Association.
