    QUARTERLY REPORT OF THE MYSORE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH. PART I. GENERAL. 1. Prince Jay a Chamaraja Wodeyar, accompanied by Mr. D, H. El win visited the department on Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th March 1939. 2. The Hewan paid a visit to Sakrepatna and made enquiries about the arrangements made for the control of malaria in that place. The Second Member of Council inspected the Office, Malaria Station, Mudigere, and the anti-malaria work at Sakrepatna. 3. The department co-operated with the Eural Welfare Centre in Closepet in putting up an exhibition in connection with the visit of His Excellency the Viceroy on January 13. 4. The state of public health in Mysore State in the quarter under report was satisfactory. The State was entirely free from cholera and only 34 deaths from small¬ pox and 121 deaths from plague were reported. 5. Government have sanctioned the continuance of the plague vaccine work in the Public Health Institute for a further period of two years. 6.
