The number of workmen has remained the same for two to three years despite the fact that the number of houses in the District has steadily increased. All refuse was disposed of by controlled tipping, and one tip (near The Mill, Writtle) continued in use throughout the year. The transport for the public cleansing service consists of the following vehicles :— Vehicle Make Capacity Date Mileage No. in cu. yds.
