    from the column preceding (a) I. (c) is also a detached fragment, the position of which is quite uncertain. The script is a large round upright uncial, not very regular, but bold and handsome in appearance. It is remarkable for the use of the archaic form of Ζ (I) which is occasionally found in Roman papyri (cf. G. P. I. ii). The date of the MS. can hardly be later than the middle of the second century, and it may go back to the end of the first. The hands of two correctors may be distinguished ; cf. note on II. 6. The division of a line between two speakers is marked by a blank space in which the usual double dots are inserted ; these, like the marginal paragraphi which also denote the alternations of the dialogue, are no doubt by the first hand. High and middle points occur at the ends of the lines of Col. I; and in Col. II pauses in the sense are marked by points placed above the line. All these stops have probably been added later, perhaps by the first corrector. The other occasional lection signs are also unlikely to be original. 10 Fr. (a). Col.
