I extinguifhed Mercury in the pure oil of linfeed, Vv'ith little labour, but a fniall quantity could only be thus united wdth the glutinous fedi- ment of the linfeed oil. Water occah- oned a fediment of the confidence of butter, and when this was feparated the Mercury could not be extinguiihed in it.
