It is difficult to abate one’s enthusiasm for this charming pamphlet and its homely woodcuts ; and surely many people will remember with pleasure that Washington Irving quotes it in his account of Christmas at Bracebridge Hall, There are two Christmas poems, and one or two snatches of quotation. ‘‘ Tea-Witches,” the author says, “have no foundation for their Fortune- telling.”’ 286 Sure Guide to Hell (A).
