Lettering attached to the print is on a separate sheet and reads: "Woman in labour with head in the middle of narrow pelvis. ... Generally contracted flat rhachitic pelvis ... Second position of head, girl born spontaneously, living. The radiograph was taken from parturient lying on her back and legs held upwards almost vertical. Pelvis contracted in all diameters. The entrance of pelvis is scarcely to be recognized; only a small portion of the linea innominata and the upper edge of the horizontal branch of the os pubis to be seen on the right and left. The spinae ischiadicae project fairly strongly in the pelvic cavity. The exit of the pelvis is likewise somewhat contracted through the sharp rightangled arcus pubis; the os sacrum is not recognizable. In the middle of the pelvis lies the well-formed, long drawn out head. To the right the nape of the neck has already reached over the linea innominata. The little fontanel falls exactly on the borders between the foramen ovale and descending branch of the pubis, considerably lower than the large fontanel which lies on a level with the horizontal branch of the pubis to the left. The tuber frontale is still above the entrance of the pelvis. The periphery of the skull is already underneath the interspinal line."
