His father, Stephen Lightfoot, Was a reputable yeoman or gentleman-farmer^ who died with a very amiable character, as ap- pears by the following all-fufiicient epitaph, placed on a fmall marble monument in the parilh church of Newent^ In Memory of Stephen Lightfoot^ of this Parilh.
