About this work

Description

Akrit Jaswal has the highest IQ of any living boy in India. He was walking and talking by 10 months old and reading Shakespeare at age 5. He performed his first operation at 7-years-old. Now, aged 12, his mission is to rid the world of cancer and he believes he can find a cure. He has been invited to Imperial College London to meet cancer expert Mustafa Djamgoz and have his theories put to the test. Next he meets cancer surgeon Anup Patel and goes on a ward round where he impresses everybody with his anatomical and scientific knowledge. However, Akrit's lack of a father-figure is clearly an issue - his father has promised to return to the family when Akrit finds a cure for cancer so much is at stake for him. Despite Akrit's clearly astonishing skills and his enthusiasm it becomes obvious he is still a young boy. An IQ test shows that he has a very high score in some areas but quite surprisingly low in others. The scientists he meets at Imperial College send him away with more realistic plans and offer to accommodate him again in the future to enhance his practical skills.
