![DIPHTHERIA IMMUNISE TI ON In the Lothingland district in 1962, 194 primary immunisations and 202 booster injections were carried out by the child welfare clinics and general practitioners. Roach resigned for domestic reasons at the end of November. The relief nurse then ceased to relieve in Carlton Colville and Kessingland and concentrated on work mainly in the vacant area, Lound and district. The vacancy continued until the end of the year, MIDWIFERY Deliveries Midwifery Visits Ante-natal Visits 135 3,445 1,757 These figures are approximately 25% higher than the figures for I96l. In addition, 88 mothers delivered in hospital we re- discharged home before the 10th day and required nursing care. This was against 62 for 1961. GENERAL NURSING New Patients Attended Visits Paid 199 5,326 Once again, as last year, the proportion of new patients aged 65 years and over and visits paid to them was just over half the total figures. HEALTH VISITING Two of the three Health Visitors in Lothingland left during the year, one in June and the other in September. Consequently, there was difficulty in maintaining an adequate service.
