![3- In consequence of these instructions the Annual Reports of the Medical Officers of Health are extremelv brief, and only one of them (Oldbury Urban) is printed. 4. The present Medical Officer of Health for Tewkesbury Rural District (Dr. Elder) writes that he is unable to present an Annua] Report on Tewkesbury Rural District for 1917, as he only took over the duties of the late Dr. Turner in January last. Public Health Staff. 5. At the present time there are 24 Medical Officers of Health and 30 Sanitary Inspectors in the County, all of whom are employed by the Local Authorities. 6. The following are present modifications of this Staff : Stourbridge Borough. Dr. Wilberforce Freer has recently gone on Military Service, and Dr. J. R. Sinton acts as his Deputy. Kidderminster Rural District. Dr. Bertram Addenbrooke re¬ sumed his duties as Medical Officer of Health in October last on his return from Military Service. Tewkesbury Rural District. Dr. Matthew Elder succeeded the late Medical Officer of Health (Dr. Turner) in January 1918. Oldbury Urban District. Mr. G. H. Davis (Cert. Roy. San. Inst) succeeded Mr. Robbins (retired) as Sanitary Inspector. Evesham Rural District. Miss Dorothy McConnell (Cert. Roy. San. Inst.) continues to act as Deputy for Mr. Holloway (Sanitary Inspector), who is still on Military Service. Upton-on-Severn Rural District. The Assistant Sanitary In¬ spector (Mr. Fallowes) is still on Military Service. Vital Statistics. 7. The Registrar-General has again supplied me for transmission to the District Medical Officers of Health, with a classified statement of the births, and causes of death ; and also a similar statement for the aggregate Urban and aggregate Rural Districts in the County ; and it is upon these latter statements that the Countv Statistics for 1917 are based. 8.
