    12. DISTRIBUTION OF FRUIT JUICES AND CODLIVER OIL. J he distribution ol bruit Juices and Cod Liver Oil continues at the various Infant Welfare Clinics in the Borough. In accordance with Ministry ot Health Circular 2609 a new procedure came into operation on April ist when the free general issue of these preparations ceased, and such preparations are now issued free only to children whose parents income is within the present limits prescribed under the National Milk Scheme. The charg-e for vitamin preparations for eligible children who are not entitled to free issues will be :— Codliver Oil lod. per bottle (6 weeks supply). Black Currant Syrup 5d. per bottle (2 weeks supply). Orange Juice 5d. per bottle (2 weeks supply). Black Currant Puree 2^d. per tin (i weeks supply). Supplies of Codliver Oil are restricted to childreiiN who have not attained the age of five years, and supplies of fruit juices to children who have not attained the age of two years. In July supplies of fruit juices were allowed for children up to three years of age, and in December children up to five years of age were allowed to have these. In December Cod Liver Oil and fruit juices were made available to expectant mothers on the same terms as to children under five. SCABIES. The incidence of this disease is by no means marked. A cleans¬ ing station has however been established in the Borough at the Baths First-Aid Post, and with the co-operation of the local medical prac¬ titioners, persons infected are directed to attend for treatment. 119 cases were treated at this Centre during the year, the Avorst months being Septemebr, October, November and December, when 34, ii, 29 and 11 cases respectively were cleansed. TUBERCULOSIS. 'The Borough of Pudsey is not a local supervising authority for d'uberculosis. All cases coming within the Borough are notified to the Medical Officer of Health who in turn notifies them to the County Medical Officer. 21 cases were notified during the year. VENEREAL DISEASES. This is a matter that is dealt with by the County Medical Officer of Health, and anv details will appear in his Annual Report. No cases have been reported to this authority.
