Where- unto are added certaine necessarie rules and short observations for the Italian Tongue, folio, half calf, fine portrait by W. Hole, 1611 £4/5/- S.T.C. 11099. Title remargined and a few small stains on some leaves, otherwise good copy of this rare book. Florio was one of the most prominent figures in the literary circles of London at the time of Shakespeare. The portrait is said to be the first appearance of the only known engraving of Florio. Commendatory verses by I] Candido (M. Gwynne), Sam. Daniel, Alb. Gentili, and others.
