I have also attempted to give, as occasion offered^ a rational account of the action of the various agencies, climatic and medicinal, which come into operation in the different classes of resorts treated of. In a few instances, when it has not been practicable to give an account of a Health Resort amongst the groups dealt with in the several chapters of which this volume is composed, a brief but sufficient account of it has been introduced in the Index.
