    Local Treatment.—In general it is a dangerous thing to meddle with warts locally. Especially is this the case with mushroom warts (with short pedicle and flattened tops). Warts may be psoric or sycotic, or they may be closely allied to epithelial cancer. In the case of common warts, the same remedy that is being taken internally may be applied externally to the warts in a solution once a day. Solid lunar caustic is sometimes an effectual applica¬ tion. Glacial acetic acid, applied every three or four days, has the advantage of not dis¬ colouring the part. Chromic acid may be used also. Wasting. See Atrophy. Water-brash.—Everything tastes sour; sour eruc¬ tations ; acid gnawing stomach; flatulence, distension, Lyc. 6, 4h. Heartburn after eating; sour-smelling breath ; difficult belching; eruc¬ tations of water after eating ; putrid in morning ; heartburn < before breakfast; of drunkards, Nux v. 3, 4h. Risings, especially after having eaten, mostly bitter or sour with a taste of the food ; pressure on stomach, Bry. 3, 4h. Heat rising from stomach to throat, Mane. 3—30, 4h.
