    I have followed, in the order of Genera and Species of Dis- eases, the Nosological Arrangement of Dr. Cutten, of which it may be said that it 1s, at’ least,-as good as any that has appeared, and whichis the best understood, and most generally received, in this country. . No method of treating diseases can be expected to answer ‘the hopes of the practitioner, while he cannot depend on the purity and genuineness of his Medicines. The arts of adulteration, and the substitution of matters of inferior quality to those prescribed, prevail, at present, to such a shameful degree, that I find it necessary to request, that gentlemen, who may think right to give the methods of treatment proposed a trial, will procure the Medicines at the CuemicaLtanp MepicaL Hatt, No. 20, Bedford-Street, Covent-Garden. No article, Phar- maceutical or Chemical, is sold there, which has not been previously examined by myself, and in consequence, I am enabled to vouch for its purity, and will warrant its producing its true and appropriate effect. The imtended course of Lectures, in which I propose to elucidate more clearly the opinions delivered in the present volume, will be given at my house, in Bedford-Street, Covent- Garden, gratuitously. 7 The second part of the work, comprehending Meprcax Surcery, I hope to be able to complete before the commence- ment of the Lectures in October.
