As tbe employ- ment of one or otber of tbese agents is often indicated iu calculous iiepbralgia, gallstone, colic, some cases of cancer, neuralgia, maniacal delii-ium, convulsions, tbe paroxysmal dyspncea of infantile larjTi- gismus and dipbtberia and croup, as we'll as in spasmodic diseases generally, a few words on tbeir mode of administration may not be out of pjlace. I'or if tbe breatbing becomes ster- torous, or if it stop, or if it a)ipear diHicult and tbe inipil.s become widely dilated, or if tbere is evidence tbat tlie circulation is getting weak aud fali.ering, tbe inlialaliou must be conqilelely suspended; wbile, if nioro serious symptoms follow, tbe body sbouLl be gently and gradually turned over to tlm left side, so as to'alUnv of tbe rogioii of (be beart and tlio b;ft side of llic fac(( resting upon tbe coucb.
