At the first complete examination of the Schools over a hundred carriers were found, and as it was im- possible to isolate many of these at their homes, and impossible in many more to carry out the work of dis- infection properly, it was decided to utilise the buildings of the temporary Hos])ital at Bradley Wood to isolate and treat those who could not be properly treated at home. The accommodation soon p)roved to be insufficient and tents with f)oarded floors were erected to supplement the wooden buildings already in existence. Bedsteads were provided for the girls, but for reasons of economy, the boys were bedded on mattresses placed on wooden floors. No patient was discharged until two consecutive negative swabs had been obtained from both nose and throat.
